White Smile is a non-governmental, non-profit civil society organization dedicated to the humanitarian and health services within the domain of dentistry. It was founded in Aleppo city and then licensed in Gaziantep city by a group of Syrian dentists who are aware of the large gap in dental health services in areas of the Syrian conflict. The organization provides preventive and curative dental treatments to individuals and Syrian families wherever they are, in an academic manner that ensures perfection, with respect for the patient’s time and integrity in accordance with the humanitarian principles of and health workers ethics, White Smile seeks to sustain these services by empowering the local community. The organization also aims to train more dentists, develop the capabilities of current dental staff, represent their aspirations and influence legislation and dental care policies at all levels.

Our Vision:

Our dental services reach Syrians in need everywhere, giving them a healthy and a white smile.

White Smile began as a response to the lack of dental care for people in conflict. We believe in the right to proper medical – in this case dental – care and are working to provide this care to all patients and alleviate suffering related to dental campaign. We consider this part of our medical oath and work according to our three core values:

• Professionalism: evidence based practise
• Respect: for patient’s time and dignity
• Perfection: within available resources, following protocols and quality control

Since 2013 we have implemented 10 projects including establishing dental clinics, recruiting and training dental to operate the staff, as well as projects focussing around community awareness. To date we have reached 219,484 beneficiaries and with CanDo we hope to reach many more.
